Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Titan Brake Actuator with a capacity of 6,000 pounds. When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, your vehicle slows down and momentum continues to push your trailer toward the rear of the vehicle. Today we're going to be showing you how to install the Titan Disc Brake Kit and BrakeRite II SD Electric-Over-Hydraulic Actuator. This is going to work for tandem axles with 3,500 lb capacity. Part number is T4843700. This Titan kit's going to allow you to easily change over to disc brakes from your standard drum brakes. This is going to give us a very noticeable increase in our braking performance. You can see both the hub and rotor here have a dichromate plated finish for superior corrosion resistance. The advantage to disc brakes is that we're going to have a faster response time to begin slowing down our trailer, and it's going to be a much more smooth and even braking process. To begin our installation, we're going to get our breakaway switch mounted up here to our pin. more

HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Disc Brake Actuator Installation- Video
Today we'll be having a look at and installing the HydraStar electric over hydraulic actuator for disc brakes, part number HBA16. Here's what our HydraStar trailer brake actuator looks like once it's been installed. As you can see, it's a nice, compact unit that hardly takes up any space at all, sits nicely on our battery tray here that our trailer has. This unit will provide us with 1600 psi of braking pressure to operate our disk brakes. First thing we need to do is find a place to mount our actuator. We have a bracket here that we made mounted on the side of our battery box, so we're going to be using that. We'll secure it with some hardware. We'll use a wrench and a socket and we'll tighten this down just using a bolt and a nylon lock nut to hold it in place. Now we need to start routing our brake lines to the back of the trailer in order to install everything. more

Today we're going to take a look at the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator with the drop for Disc Brakes, has the electric lockout, and it fits on a hitch ball size of 2-5/16" diameter. Now this hydraulic actuator will synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow vehicle brakes. On the very back here it has this electric reverse lockout which is attached to the back of the master cylinder. This will let you back up without actuating the trailer brakes. The lockout is basically a solenoid that is attached from the back of the master cylinder. It has two wires coming out of it that connect to the ground and into the reverse light circuit, so when you put your vehicle in reverse, it'll cut off the brakes from applying on your brakes when you're in reverse. Then if you also notice right here it has nice built in shield to protect that solenoid valve from the elements or from any damage. They also used this unique roller design that will reduce resistance during telescoping to create straight line movement. more

Demco Brake Actuator - Surge Brake Actuator - DM8102222 Review- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at part number DM8102222. This is the Demco hydraulic brake actuator for a-frame couplers with a primed finish and adjustable channel center. The hydraulic actuator is going to activate your trailer's brakes when the tow vehicle slows down or stops. It's going to have the adjustable channel that's going to have three different mounting positions for the coupler. Couplers are going to be sold separately but you would have position one, position two, and position three. The rough measurements for that channel is about 3" in width here at the opening and 8" in length there from top to bottom. This is going to contain a master cylinder that's made from a composite material so it's going to be very durable and efficient. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number DM8608601. This is a Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator for a 2 inch hitch ball. The hydraulic actuator is going to activate your trailer's brakes when the tow vehicle slows or stops. We're just going to go over a few features of this unit real quick. Right up here upfront it's going to have the easy latch coupler mechanism for simple secure hook up and disconnect. This unit is going to let you up hook up when the latch is actually in a closed position, so you never really have to have to open it up to connect it to your hitch ball. All you have to do is line up the coupler directly over the hitch ball, drop the coupler over the ball, and the latch is going to snap in place automatically. It's also going to have a nice little quarter inch hole right here to install a coupler pin or a pin and lock. more

Demco Hydraulic Trailer Brake Actuator Installation- Video
Today on our boat trailer, we're going to be installing the Demco hydraulic trailer brake actuator, part number 8605001. To begin an install, we'll first need to remove the old or manufacturer's actuator and coupler. To do that remove the 2 bolts that secure it to the frame of the trailer, then we'll disconnect the hydraulic line. Here's our new coupler and actuator, the back side there's a cap covering up the master cylinder and a threaded adapter. Go ahead and make sure the adapter is tight first. Then we'll thread the old line into the new master cylinder. more

Titan Brake Actuator - Surge Brake Actuator - T2478100 Review- Video
Today well be reviewing part number T2478100. This is the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator with a drop built-in here at our coupler. It is designed to fit 2-5/16-inch hitch balls and it's designed to work with hydraulic drum brakes. The hydraulic actuator is going to synchronize the trailer brakes with the tow vehicle brakes. When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and it's actually going to push the momentum of the trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With the surge braking system, the actuators is then triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. Inside of here, we have an actuator that actually telescopes, applying force to the master cylinder, which is located here at the rear, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the brakes that you have on your trailer. Now because this model does not include a reverse lockout, it is recommended that you equip your trailer with free-backing brakes so that you can drive in reverse without triggering your trailer's brakes. This system features a nice and unique roller design that's going to reduce resistance during telescoping. You have a lot of moving parts in there, so these rollers just help ease that movement. more

Titan Brake Actuator - Surge Brake Actuator - T4750700 Review- Video
Today we'll be reviewing part number C4750700, this is the Titan zinc plated brake actuator with the built in drop. It's going to provide a 3" drop, measuring from this point here to the base of the bottom of the coupler. It's also designed to work with disc brakes, and it's going to fit a 2 5/16" hitch ball. This is a bolt on design, you can see the different bolt holes down at this portion here. We do have a couple different sizes of bolt holes to go over. That whole mounting plate is going to give us a measurement of about 8 1/4", so 8 1/4". These three holes are going to be the same, same patterns on the other side. more
